Pacific Humane:

Logo/Brand Identity

The project involved designing a logo concept for a Humane Society, focusing on creating a visual identity that embodies compassion, care, and community engagement in the Pacific Northwest.

I aimed to incorporate elements that represent care, community, and specifically the Pacific Northwest, while ensuring a clean and modern aesthetic. After creating a few ‘mind maps’, many concept sketches, and critiques to narrow down the design, the final design features a stylized silhouette alongside a heart within a simple evergreen tree, capturing the essence of the organization's mission to promote animal welfare in this region.

The chosen color palette consists of calming, inviting tones to evoke feelings of serenity and hope, making the logo not only recognizable but also emotionally resonant. I included a few more colorways, including the silhouette character in blue to further induce feelings of serenity and represent the waters of the Pacific Northwest, and a black and white version.

I also included in the package a compact logo, and an additional typeface choice should the client so choose.

This project allowed me to enhance my skills in conceptualization and design, as well as to better understand the importance of branding with specifics in mind.

The tools used basic pencil and paper, Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop.
